Walking Tour Stop #1: The City Gates (previous | next)
Acts 2:42, 46-47 (NASB)
And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

The City Gates area is all about conversations. If you're looking for people, you'll most likely find them here!

This is where everyone gathers for
...the news of the day
...group interaction, prayer, discussion, chat, planning.
...listening quietly to the Lord, as we sit in on the conversations.

Looking at the City Gates Navigation menu, you'll find several ways to connect:

Discussion forums offer a variety of areas for reflective group discussion. It's a bit like YahooGroups, but no email is involved.

Wiki area(s) allow a group to collaborate through flexible dynamic documents. If you've never heard of a Wiki, just go visit! They are full of valuable info! NOTE: the Wiki's are only available if you have logged in.

(Submit News Item gives you the opportunity to create an announcement. Upon approval, it will be posted on the home page for everyone to see.)

eChat -- is an online live-text-chat tool for a whole group. We're evaluating whether this has sufficient value to keep.

While we're on the subject of connecting, here are some other 'connecting' tools at A Place of Koinonia

Public quick-chat, in the Chat Box to the right

Instant messaging -- click on the icon next to any member's name at the top-right

Private messaging -- like online email, (but no carbon copies)
