Mad Dog Multimedia are much better than any others we've found: they always work, need no fan to keep cool, and have a two-year warranty.

Update: CompUSA had a typo in their advertising. Only the 3.5 inch USB2 is on sale half-price. All of Mad Dog's enclosures are half price this week. Examples: US$30 for 3.5 inch Combo (USB2+Firewire); US$15 for 2.5 inch USB2. Oh, and US$60 for 5.25 inch including a DVD burner (not bad if you missed last week's $25 DVD burner deal!)

External enclosures are wonderful. Instead of buying external drives, spend a couple of minutes to assemble them yourself. You'll get a much better price, better quality product, and better warranty. (We use five-year-warranty Seagate drives plus these enclosures.)
