What Is SLTy / Intro

"SLTy" is Spirit-Led Technology.

What if "high tech" could be appreciated as a godly influence in the world?

Can you imagine such a thing? Yes, I mean truly appreciated. Not just a bunch of hype. A transformed industry, transformed products and tools, transformed people... so much that the "godly" vastly outweighs any "garbage" that might remain.

That's our adventure. And it begins with a simple, very practical question: Is there really a visible difference about people who follow Jesus as high tech entrepreneurs, bizdev executives, marketing VPs, techies or other "knowledge workers?" I mean, in how we work, what kind of results we achieve, and so forth?

Our answer is an emphatic yes. There are three crucial elements to that answer:

1. Spirit-Led. Sure, we've got great track records as "can do" Silicon Valley professionals. But step #1 is learning that this path is deeply spiritual. It really is ultimately all about God. If that scares you, or leads you to think we're nut house cases, we understand. But hang in there a bit and we promise you'll discover truth, hope, joy in the midst of a deeper reality than you ever imagined.
2. Spirit-Led. This is an adventure, a journey... and we are following God. An ongoing relationship with God and the rest of His people. Yes, right in the midst of our work days. Just as productive... no, ultimately more productive, than ever before.
3. Technology. That's our focus -- bringing hope to, and through, the people, methods, products and services found in endless numbers of high tech companies, large and small. CEO to techie, Marketing to QA, writers or engineers. Everyone who knows what it is to work in a high energy entrepreneurial environment. Give real hope to that community, our community, and God will use us to transform the whole world!

Over the years, we've discovered (to our great surprise!) that God has a lot more to say about this 21st century high tech world than we ever imagined.

Hang in there. This is not your everyday "Marketplace Ministry." Sure, we agree that's important, yet there's more to this than being a "good guy" for the person in the next cubicle, or for your boss or employee.

When we speak of Spirit-led Technology, we are referring both to Spirit-led technologists and technology, transforming the Church and its witness in our technological world through a renewed perspective and vision of who we are and what we're about.

As noted in our overview document[1], we believe God's people will impact the Church and the World for Him, as we make a dramatic, across-the-board transformation -- a transformation of Individuals (beginning with me!), professional Communities (and their products and services).

We're on an exciting adventure of discovery! In this section of the SLTy Community website, you'll explore more about SLTy from several perspectives.

We've discovered deep truths about this everywhere we turn. This website is a place where stories and insights can be shared, where people can work through the issues together, and it's a safe place where together we can take action to actually implement what we are living and learning!

Members have access to a wide variety of resources about Spirit-Led Technology, ranging from forums, to wiki documents and a variety of downloadable materials (powerpoint presentations and more). These are being actively updated all the time, based on what God is revealing to this community!
